London, 22 June 2026 — The Hindu National Health Network (HNHN), previously known as the Hindu NHS Network, convened an important Ambassador and Advisor Engagement and Strategic Development Meeting at the House of Lords to discuss the future growth, sustainability, and impact of the organisation.
The event was hosted by Lord Rami Ranger CBE in partnership with The Hindu National Health Network and brought together prominent people from various sectors of the society and included parliamentarians, business leaders, healthcare leaders, academics, policymakers, and other members of society for a high-level discussion on the future direction of the organisation.
Among those attending were Lord Jitesh Gadhia, Trupti Patel, representing the Hindu Forum of GB, Krishna Pujara from Enfield Sahelis, Ram Goyal, Manish Tiwari from orm , Tarun Gulhati, Balvir and Pinka Bhalla, Harj and Jade Sethi, Barry and Shobhna Dass, former Member of Parliament Virendra Sharma, Tarun Gulhati …., Manish Tiwari …, , Sudha …. , Sanjana …., Mahendra Jadeja, together with numerous ambassadors, advisors, and supporters of HNHN.
Professor Rajeev Gupta and Ravi Bhanot MBE, Co-Convenors of HNHN, delivered a presentation highlighting the achievements so far and outlining an ambitious five-year vision for the organisation. The strategy focuses on expanding professional membership, supporting healthcare leadership, promoting research and education, improving community health and wellbeing, and building partnerships across healthcare, academia, and public life.
The event featured an extensive brainstorming session in which participants explored how their experience, expertise, and networks could contribute towards the continued growth of HNHN. Discussions covered governance, sustainability, funding, mentorship, community engagement, policy influence, digital innovation, and educational programmes.
Speaking after the event, HNHN leaders highlighted the extraordinary goodwill and enthusiasm shown by attendees and emphasised the importance of building an organisation that can support healthcare professionals while making a meaningful contribution to society and community wellbeing.
Participants recognised yoga and meditation as an evidence-based practice that supports physical fitness, mental wellbeing, stress reduction and resilience. There was strong support for encouraging greater awareness of yoga within healthcare settings as part of a preventive and wellbeing-focused approach. The meeting also explored the importance of providing sattvic food within NHS hospitals and healthcare environments. Sattvic food, based on wholesome and vegetarian ingredients, reflects Hindu dietary principles while offering healthy and nutritious options for patients, visitors and staff. Expanding culturally appropriate food choices is an important step towards delivering equitable and person-centred care.
There was also discussion on regular availability of Hindu Chaplain in all hospitals and healthcare settings. Hindu chaplains play an essential role in providing spiritual, emotional and pastoral support to patients, families and healthcare staff. Strengthening Hindu chaplaincy services will help ensure that individuals receive compassionate care that respects their faith, beliefs and cultural traditions during times of illness, recovery and bereavement.
The discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration between healthcare organisations, faith communities and policy makers.
The meeting concluded with agreement to develop a detailed five-year strategic plan, strengthen the Ambassador and Advisor programmes, establish thematic working groups, and create sustainable mechanisms to support future growth.
The House of Lords gathering marked an important milestone in the evolution of HNHN and demonstrated the organisation’s ambition to become a leading voice for healthcare leadership, professional development, health promotion, research, and community engagement within the United Kingdom.
