Terms and Conditions of Membership

Hindu NHS Network (HNN)

1. Eligibility for Membership

To be eligible for membership in the NHS Hindu Network (HNN), the following criteria must be met:

• Hindu Philosophical Alignment: Members must identify themselves as followers, practitioners, or supporters of Hindu philosophy, as reflected in its spiritual, cultural, and ethical principles.
• Association with the NHS: Members must currently work, have previously worked, or have been a patient within the NHS. Alternatively, individuals may be granted membership if they demonstrate a genuine willingness to support or contribute to the objectives of HNN. The Executive Board retains the discretionary authority to accept or decline membership applications.

2. Commitment to HNN Activities

By joining the NHS Hindu Network, members agree to:

• Actively support, participate in, and promote the objectives and activities of HNN;
• Attend meetings, events, and community outreach initiatives where possible;
• Volunteer time, expertise, or assistance as appropriate to further HNN’s vision and community impact.

3. Respect and Code of Conduct

All members are expected to uphold a standard of respectful and professional conduct. Specifically:

• Members shall treat all other members with dignity and respect, regardless of background, role, or opinion.
• Abusive, discriminatory, threatening, or foul language directed at any individual or group is strictly prohibited.
• Constructive dialogue, mutual support, and collective harmony are core to our network’s philosophy and must be maintained.

4. Restrictions on Promotions and Advertising

• HNN platforms (including social media groups, email lists, or events) must not be used for personal advertising, business promotions, or unrelated political/religious campaigning.
• Promotional activities are permitted only if they are aligned with and contribute to HNN’s aims and values, and must receive prior approval from the Executive Board.
• Not to swear or be abusive or disrespectful to anyone on the whats’s app group
• Not to advertise on the group products or services unless they are advancing the aims and objectives (eg, where to get Gitas)
• Only to post items/add items that are relevant to the aims and objectives of the group.
• Unless an individual says otherwise, it would be assumed members have agreed to the Aims and Objectives of the group as well as to all that has been presented in the “Hindus Network in the NHS book”, present and future initiatives carried out by the group.
• Members will be active, cooperative  and help and assist in initiatives of the group.
• Members will not bring the Group into disrepute in any way.
• Members cannot represent the views of the HNN(Hindu NHS Network) but only their personal views when communicating with anyone outside the group.

5. Governance and Disciplinary Action

• The Executive Board (and/or designated Senior Members, as defined in the governance document -TBC) holds the final authority on all membership matters, including disputes, complaints, and disciplinary actions.
• Membership may be suspended or terminated at the sole discretion of the Executive Board for any breach of these terms, conduct deemed detrimental to the network, or failure to uphold the ethos of HNN.

6. Amendments and Interpretation

• HNN reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Members will be notified of any changes via the official communication channels.
• In case of any ambiguity, the Executive Board’s interpretation of these terms shall be final.
